About
Welcome to finsmarts.net, a blog intended to help build the financial acumen of the masses — especially those younger than 40.
I’m your host, KW. Having worked in and around the financial services industry for a number of years, I know that information is shared in an inverted pyramid type of way. The wealthiest get the most information — and investment choices — and the resources dwindle as you move down the economic spectrum.
To be fair, it’s not that financial services providers don’t want to share the information, it’s just that they can’t see how to make money from the not-yet-wealthy or the far-from-rich.
So hopefully the insights shared on this site will help you get a financial foothold earlier in life — and prepare you for when the fee-hungry folks come knocking.
To clarify, we’re not looking to make anyone rich quick by sharing hot stock tips or offer screaming land deals in ex-urbia. We’re just looking to give you some tools and resources to make smart financial decisions, regardless of your age, income or savings account balance.
